Fun Find Friday!

I love popcorn. I'm pretty sure it can almost be considered a problem. I make sure I don't always have it in the house, otherwise that would be all I ate. When I do allow myself to have a stash in the pantry I always have the standard, because who doesn't love good ol' buttered popcorn? Lately, though, there are all kinds of interesting "flavors" out there...and of course I have to give 'em a try! Here are a couple of my favorites that I thought were worthy of sharing.

Orville Redenbacher's "Buttery Salt & Cracked Pepper"
I discovered this bad boy the other day! A little spice, a little butter, a LOT of deliciousness!

Orville Redenbacher's "Lime + Salt"
So good....I mean, so good. I feel like if there was a popcorn made for summer, this would be it.

There you have it. My fun find for the week. I hope all you other popcorn lovers out there give these "flavors" a shot, if you haven't already! What are some of your favorites? I'm always looking for new types to try!!

Until next time,

Island Livin'...oh, how I miss you so...

It's been almost a month, but I can't stop thinking about the laid back way of life on the tiny island called Harbour Island ("The Friendly Island") in the Bahamas, we were so lucky to visit this summer. When our good friends, the "M" family, asked if we wanted to join them on a week long vacation to the island, we didn't hesitate. It's our first "exotic" trip as a family, and after our experience it will NOT be our last. We've already been trying to work out how we can get back...ASAP!

Thanks, "M" Family, for opening our eyes to such an a amazing place!

Until next time,

Fun Find Friday

Facial Moisturizer.
It's needed, necessary and has to be just the right balance between creamy and light.
I found a perfect match. For me. And I have to share because it could be the perfect match for you too.

I fell for this brand when I randomly grabbed a tube of Yes to Carrots - Lip Butter years ago. Instant love. So, when I ran out of moisturizer a couple weeks ago and was scoping out the natural aisle in the cosmetics department and saw this little gem - Yes to Tomatoes Daily Balancing Moisturizer - I had to give it a shot. So glad I did.

I love that I know what is in the lotion I'm using and that it is gentle on my skin. You can check a list of the ingredients in all of the Yes to Carrots products right on their site.

Usually, I'm a skeptic when it comes to all the "promises" on labels. I'm not going to lie, I didn't exactly believe this bottle of lotion was going to make my skin more balanced. But now, after about two weeks of using the lotion as part of my morning routine, I can actually see a difference in "spots" that I never thought were going to go away.

If you're looking for a new product to use as your daily moisturizer I totally recommend giving this a try. No SPF, but I'm OK with that this time of year...come summer I may switch it up to one of their other lotions with  the SPF option. For now, I am more than pleased with this sweet find!

Happy Friday!

Until next time,

Revived

Ever since we moved into our home my goal has been to hang things on the walls. Make my house a home. It took me 3 1/2 years...but I finally did it! And it feels so good.

While I was digging through my crafting closet a few weekends ago, I rediscovered some old frames my mother gave me years ago. I'm pretty sure they were from her crafting closet back in high school or college.

I never turn down a good frame, because there is always something worthy of being displayed and frames aren't cheap. So, when she asked me if I wanted them I jumped at the chance to add them to my collection of "to be used" craft items. They did sit in my closet for quite some time...years to be exact...but I knew a time would come for their beautiful reviving! So, I grabbed some paint, a brush, a cup of tea and got to it.

It's amazing what a little TLC and some leftover acrylic paint can do to spruce up an old, forgotten piece. I went with black just to keep things clean and uniformed. I already had a black frame in the spot I wanted to add the "new" frame too.

*The top frame is one of my "new" frames!

This free craft (I had all the supplies on hand) was just the thing the entrance to my home needed. Three and a half years of having been ignored so terribly, I am pretty pleased with it. And the best part, I still have 2 more frames to bring back to life...I've been searching for a reason to smarten them up! I'll keep you posted! Hope this inspires you all to get your craft on!

Until next time,

sup...

just, sup.

I'm pretty sure I don't really count as a "blogger" anymore...unless a post a year throws you in the mix??

W...for whatevs. I'm going to try to be one, try to "get my groove back". I'm not setting any goals, not making any promises - I'm pretty sure I have tried that before and totally failed. So, I'm just going to "try". Just going to write when I feel like it, isn't that what a blog is for? Or when I find something I think is rad and definitely worth throwing out there.

First up - I found myself back on Pinterest the other day after a long needed break. It wore me down, there was too much awesomeness. I didn't feel able or worthy when I looked at the site. Why couldn't I find the time to make all the fun crafts, decorate my home so beautifully, etc.? So, I took a break...it was refreshing.

Then, I decided it was time, time to dive back in - and it was. I only allow myself like three looks a week...it sucks. you. in! On my first trip back I discovered this adorable girly, flower headband DIY post. I went for it. With Spring in the air, it was hard to resist...and I had all the supplies at the house to...so super plus. Here's how it turned out. Super cute, super easy, and super cheap.

*If you read the original post this is one made with four flowers, not five. I made one with five and I have to say, I am a fan.

After I made it I realized I didn't really have a need for it, another downfall for me when it comes to Pinterest. I find myself making things purely because I think they are cute or stylish. Then they usually end up just sitting in the craft room...blah.

There is a baby boom about to happen here though, so I may find a home for this little ditty after all.

Anyway, this is one of those projects I thought worthy of sharing. It was easy, cute, and affordable. And everybody knows a little girl who would look absolutely adorable with a little bit of Spring in her hair.

Until next time,

Bringin' it back

its time.
its been a full year, more than a full year, that's ridiculous.
but its not like i have been sitting around doing nothing, i had a babe and have been busy trying to make sure i am loving, feeding, clothing - did i say loving? - that babe.

the babe. looks loved, right?

while i've been soaking up every second of having my little man here, i've sort of forgotten a lot of how life used to be.
that happens though, doesn't it?
i keep finding myself needing an outlet, for thoughts, creativity (tears at times) but mostly thoughts and creativity.
so it is after a few months of thinking i would get back on here and try to post regularly that i feel like i might be able to do it. "might" being the key word...

i'm hoping this allows me to "purge" some of the crazy mom (and non-mom) thoughts that are always (and when i say "always" i mean there are at least 5 bouncing around in my brain right now) swarming in my head.
allow me to find a reason to be creative again.
and give me an excuse to sit down and do something for me. and you. if there are any of "you" still out there.
i hope so.

regardless, i'm back.
i'm pumped.
say a prayer i don't lose steam before i post at least one more time!
ha, but seriously. seriously.
thanks for sticking it out. :-)

Over the Moon...

SWL and I are so very happy to announce that the "nugget" can now be called a HE! Friday's appointment went so great. Pretty much as soon as I hit the table for the ultrasound the nurse let us know we were expecting a Baby Boy! All of the measurements looked great and we are actually measuring 3 days ahead. This early in the game though, I'm not sure that means a whole lot...we'll see. My due date is still December 16th. We were told our little man is a very active baby, this I already knew but it was fun to hear it confirmed and know for sure all those bumps and flutters really are our baby!

SWL and I had planned to do our first shopping for our baby after this appointment, so of course we headed to Target to find some cuteness. A few outfits, a baby book and a toy quickly filled our basket. It is amazing all the things you can buy for a baby...

SWL and I (really more just me) decided early on that the one thing we were going to keep a secret until the baby arrived was the name. I should have known it would never happen. My husband is a very...whats the word, determined individual when it comes to getting his way reasoning with you. After a great effort on my part to withstand his persistence, I finally decided to leave it up to fate. I told him we could rock, paper, scissors for the decision on whether we would share the name early or old out until the baby's arrival. If SWL won, we could spill the beans - if I won, we would keep it near and dear to our hearts until the big day. After an intense match of rock, paper, scissors (best 2 out of 3) in the middle of a baby isle in Target...I lost. So, without further ado...here a few snapshots of our little man ~*Oliver William*~! :-)

Thanks for reading and sharing in our excitement. I can't wait to share my nursery projects as they come along and I start making progress. First up - think buttons! :-)

Until next time...
